Parents need to know that Riverdale is a drama about a group of teens that's based on the classic Archie comics. The series has a much darker tone than the comics, with events revolving around the murder of a local teen boy, an illicit affair between a 15-year-old student and an adult teacher, and competitive friendships.

In one episode, characters hear bed squeaking from the room above them, implying sex. In locker room scenes, young women are seen in bras and underwear (non-sexual). In some scenes characters get undressed to go to bed, infrequently bras/ shirtless men are seen. In season one shows a man and a woman sex in a car.
